Our instructor Toby Duncan was very knowledgeable, informative, and moved through the material at a pace that was good for everyone in the class; pausing after each section to solicit and answer any questions. Overall a great learning experience!

Had Wilbert as my instructor for class and he was a great instructor. He took the time needed with anyone who had further questions and made sure that everyone felt comfortable and safe with handling and operating a firearm. Would highly recommend him and Vantage Point for any classes.

I recently signed up for a basic pistol safety class this past Saturday May 10th at Vantage Point in Salem, CT. It was super informative and the instructors, Toby and Miguel answered every question as if they had a manual they were reading it from. The amount of knowledge these men have on this subject is enough to make first time students feel like professionals by the time we even get to the shooting portion. I loved the fact that we were able to shoot two different firearms and get a feeling for each of them. I was happy to hear they have other classes that I can attend as well and I am looking forward to that. After we thoroughly went through everything I felt extremely confident that I would be able to safely and properly handle a firearm, and enjoyed the range. I have already recommended this class to a lot of my friends and coworkers, specifically the ones that Vantage Point offers. Toby made it so enjoyable and engaging. It felt nothing at all like a college lecture (which I was fully prepared for, but more than pleased that he made it entertaining and desirable to keep going). I would take this class again in a heartbeat. I cannot thank you enough for setting me up for success, Toby and Miguel! I am giving 5 stars because that is the highest I am allowed otherwise, it’d be more! Job well done Vantage Point!

Instructors were friendly, clear, and answered all questions to the best of their abilities. I felt very safe handling the firearms at the end as I felt completely prepared thanks to their help.

It was my first time since my permit class shooting a gun. I was extremely nervous but the instructors were extremely helpful and patient. I for sure have a long way to go but am really grateful for the tips they gave me and the patience they had!

John and Rebecca ran a safe, useful and fun class. My wife and I learned a lot from proper grip to trigger walls and we improved our shooting to boot. Thanks a lot! We’ll be back.

This class was just what I needed after buying my first gun. The instructors were fantastic and gave us all the help and instruction we needed while keeping everything fun with hands-on practice and drills. I highly, highly recommend this class to anyone who is new to shooting.

I highly recommend this class. The instructors, Toby and Rebecca, are fantastic, very knowledgeable and approachable. The environment is clean and they have a great variety of targets to practice on. This is an awesome refresher on the basics you learn in a pistol permit class, and I feel much more comfortable shooting after taking this class. I will definitely sign up for more here.

Great class, very informative, instructors were very knowledgeable and it was a good atmosphere, all in all great class!!

All of the instructors were very knowledgeable. The fact they all have a background in military and also being officers of some sort. Made the experience a lot better because you could tell the confidence level in what they were teaching was high. Would definitely recommend to someone who had no experience at all with handguns and gun safety in general. Thanks again!

Awesome class. As a new gun owner, this was a perfect way to feel more confident using my firearm. The instructors were so helpful. It has been almost 8 months since I got my permit and I didn’t have any shooting time since. The indoor range is very impressive, and I will definitely be utilizing that. Great instructors, great class, great facility. This is the type of class you could take multiple times. This was a 10-star experience.

The course was very organized. The instructors, Toby and Jon, explained all the safety rules and regulations in easy to understand terms. I really did not know what to expect and was somewhat apprehensive about going to the class. I was so relieved when I arrived to a beautiful facility, well-lighted and easy to access. I truly wish I had taken the course before I purchased my handgun. I learned that the gun I purchased is not the best choice for me. I have been struggling with accuracy. Once the class went to the range I was amazed at how my gun-handling skills improved. I have a much better understanding of how my gun works and what I have to do to improve. The instructors, Toby and Jon were so excellent, kind, and understanding. I felt completely comfortable talking to them and taking directions. It was a great experience. The biggest thing I learned was the gun I purchased isn’t the right gun for me. I am going to continue with instruction with Vantage Point and look forward to improving.

I recently had the opportunity to take the USCCA Defensive Pistol Program lead by instructor Paul H. at Vantage Point Firearms Training Facility in Salem CT. The class was well taught, informative, challenging and fun! Paul did an excellent job controlling the line while also giving individual attention to those who needed it. I highly recommend taking this one of a kind class in CT. A must for those who are looking to advance their skills. This is just another example of the quality teaching that is available from the areas best Firearm educators.

As a fairly novice gun enthusiast, this class was challenging and extremely informative. I recommend a preliminary safety and gun handling course as a prerequisite to this course, but this course was exceptional for handling and shooting experience.

Informative and efficient

The Instructors did an excellent job of making the students comfortable while driving home safety and the great responsibility of becoming a gun owner. USCCA rep was a little pushy as a salesman and brought a level of anxiety into the classroom.

The instructors (Toby and John) were excellent. They were thorough and passionate about fire arm safety. They both had great personalities and helped to make all students comfortable throughout the class. I will definitely seek more instruction from both of them.
